4th of July

We thought that we would take some nice 4th of July pictures in their patriotic outfits, but it just resulted in Canan eating the flag.

Family Trip

This past weekend the family took a short trip down to Tucson. We were blessed to get some money back from our old insurance company and used that to priceline a hotel. It was great to get away for the weekend and not think about our house, broken down car or job situations. We just got to focus on being a family and having fun. We took the boys to the zoo, they slept the whole time. We took them to the cool college hot spots, they slept the whole time. Then we took them to a mission 100's of years old, and surprisingly, they slept the whole time! They loved the trip.

Are we crazy?

Many of you have thought it and some have flat out told us we are. Yes, it is true we have gone hippy and have been using cloth diapers since the boys were about 2 months old. The fact is life is getting quite expensive since we have added two to our family, while are budget is getting smaller. Thanks to the cloth diapers you have all contributed at the baby showers, Chris and I are saving well over $2000 over the next 2 years and more if it takes longer to potty train. I have heard boys take a lot longer than girls. :) I will be honest it is not always fun taking care of the poopy diapers, but over all it really hasn't been much harder than the disposables. We just really feel it is important that we be responsible for our family and save money whereever we can to have the money where we need it, like medical bills. Plus the boys look darn cute in them.

Here are a few pictures of the boys in their cloth diapers. (Left at 2 months, right 3 1/2 months)

8 Weeks Old

The boys reached 8 weeks old!  Their nana and papa helped us take photos of them (actually, papa was the one taking the photos).  Enjoy these pictures of Jonas and Canan at 8 weeks old!

New Years Eve

We slipped out of the house for a few hours on New Year's Eve.  Although we had to be home by 10 pm to relieve nana and papa from baby-sitting we had a fun three hours at the Monroe's.

Playtime

I can't believe we have had both boys home for only a week  and 1/2.  It feels so great and natural and it is so fun to watch these two start to develop more personality everyday!  There is a small amount of sadness seeing them grow so fast but it is wonderful at the same time.  On the day of this video (2 days ago) I put the boys in new born clothes for the 1st time and for the most part it actually fit them.  They are getting so big.  Both boys are about 6 lbs now!!  I hope you enjoy this video.
